I was inspired to create this using a plein air study a new color palette. It was a combo of cool and warm colors highlighting the application of paint. Come see to appreciate!

Nature's Rhythm

Perfect Conditions

I met up with friends to paint along the shores of Lake Benbrook. The landscape is transforming with a variety of color and texture. It was a perfect morning with mild conditions and cooler temperatures.

Texas Moon

I created this on location in Benbrook . It is always an inspiring place to visit and paint with friends. When I first arrived the sun was slowly rising and the moon was setting. The sky was changing quickly. By the time I set up the moon was gone, but it was an image I wanted to include. I love that plein air painting gets us outside connecting to nature.

His words of wisdom and easy manner made it a incredible experience. Jim works quickly and from memory, only painting what really moves him. It was so inspiring and freeing to apply his technique to my paintings.

Airfield Falls

We’ve had cooler temperatures and some rain last week. I took advantage of this and joined other artist at Airfield Falls trail. This is on the east side of Navel Air Station JRB in Ft. Worth. This is Tarrant County’s largest natural waterfall and a beautiful setting for a morning of painting.

Bridal Cottage

This small cottage is on the grounds of Chandor Gardens in Weatherford. Filtered light peaking thru the trees highlighted these small cottages. The flower gardens led my eye to the bridal cottage that is tucked away in a quiet spot. I know this must be a beautiful location for a wedding.

Crepe Myrtle Impressions

I joined 6 other artist at Chandor Gardens on Friday. We were taking advantage of the cooler temperatures. I wandered around the gardens searching for my next victim. I loved the way the light was highlighting these beauties. I wanted to create a fun and colorful version of the crepe myrtle trees.
