Finding the Blues

12×9 oil on canvas

To celebrate the first day of spring, we met up to paint at the Master Gardens in Granbury. It is still a bit early for the spring flowers, but I did find a patch of bluebonnets to paint. It was a relaxing time painting with nice spring weather and not too much crazy wind.

This is a commission I completed and delivered recently. Our cousin, Julie moved away and really missed her home state. She reached out to me to request a large Texas landscape. It was a joy to collaborate with her to bring her vision to life. Commissioned artwork for a cherished family member. This painting found it’s home.

9x12 oil on canvas

Image driving up on a field of wildflowers and trying to capture the excitement on canvas. The fields are alive with color this spring. The blue bonnets were slowing fading making room for the yellows in this lakeside scene. I painted this a couple of weeks ago and finally touched it up and signed it.
