Creek Bound 2

Creek Bound 2 5x7 oil on canvas

I've started a new series of small paintings using the same source of inspiration.

This is a small creek in Glen Rose. I am exploring different color combos and design. Hopefully leading to new discoveries. It is fun to paint these with a different approach.

Sunrise Special

Sunrise Special 8x6 oil on canvas panel

This is another painting inspired from the area behind the Master's Garden in Granbury.  I wanted to explore the design with warmer colors in the landscape. Part is what I observed and part of my imagination.

Landscape's Colorful Patterns

Landscape's Colorful Patterns 8x6 oil on canvas panel

If you look for it, you can find beauty in unexpected places.  This is the view behind the Master's Garden in Granbury.  There are wild flowers that line the creek bed and create a nice design.  This is in the heart of the city, but there are still nice views, if you look for it.

I painted this in the studio after painting at the Botanical Gardens with my friend Doug Clark This garden was in full bloom displaying every color in the rainbow.  This was a great reminder of being outside surrounded by the blooming flower.

Delightful Display

Delightful Display 6x8 oil on canvas panel

The changing light offers such a range of color I couldn't resist painting this.  This is a sunset on Lake Granbury and was a joy to see and try to replicate.

May your day be filled with light and color. Take a moment and notice the subtle changes nature can offer.

I've started a series of landscapes in a smaller format than my normal.  They will be for a solo show at Pottery Barn in August.  This was inspired from this spring's wild flowers. They have been over the top this year.

Seeds of Texas

Seeds of Texas 20x16 oil on canvas

I am still pumped about the wild flowers around here.  The soft blues and warm yellows made a good combination. The Texas landscape can offer inspiring views if you are looking for them.

Wild Flower Field

Wild Flower Field 9x12 oil on wood panel

The wild flowers continue to inspire me. The bright colors topped with the lacy sky were eye candy to me and make me happy.

The art of being happy lies in the power of common things.

Garden Gifts

Garden Gifts 14x7

It is always a gift to be able to paint outside, especially when it is in my garden.

The hollyhocks and gladiolas were showing their color and calling me to paint them.

May Wild Flowers

May Wild Flowers 9x12 oil on wood panel
O, my goodness the wild flowers were a sight to see this season. First we had cool colors of blue bonnets gracing the landscape. Next came the warm colors of the paint brush, indian blankets, yellow daisies and so much more. The skies are spectacular and a great contrast. It is always a fun to capture in a painting. This is filled with texture and color.

Misty Morning Blue Bonnets

Misty Morning Blue Bonnets 16x20 oil on canvas

This is my demo from yesterday at Your Private Collection Art Gallery.  I especially love the reaction of children when they see an artist at work. It makes them want to paint and sometimes I let them.  It is a great place to hang and surrounded by great art. So please stop by sometime and check it out.

I created this at the Hidden Garden Tour in Ft Worth.  This wonderful one room shed was in the back yard of the home I painted at. She used it for a meeting space for her clients.  She also had a wonderful garden that surrounded it.
