Hot Pink Cactus 14x18

Hot Pink Cactus 14x18 oil on wood panel

This was inspired from a trip to Big Bend. The array of colors in the desert were surprising. The deep colors are intensified after long periods of no rain. They come in a rainbow of colors. Eye candy!

Amaryllis Garden 18x24

Amaryllis Garden 18x24 oil on canvas

I created this from a small plein air painting in I did at my-in-laws

house. We have sold their house and moved the bulbs to my garden. I can't wait until they bloom here. It was fun to explore the shape and color of these beauties.

Fall Creek Flow 11x14

Fall Creek Flow 11x14 oil on panel

I created this on location in Granbury, Texas. I met my painting buddies, Judy and Linda to paint on the river bed.  It was a peaceful morning with the sounds of the water trickling along. It's always a good thing to get out and paint on location.  To purchase or see more http://www.sherijonesart.com Sheri@sherijonesart.com http://www.sheriart.blogspot.com. Magical Meadow 12x12

Magical Meadow 12x12 oil on canvas

This sunrise painting was inspired from the wild flowers sprinkling the landscape in the early morning light.  It was a joy to witness this great start to the day. I had dreams of painting standing in this beautiful meadow.  Hopefully I will be able to do just that.  It's located outside of the town of Cresson, Texas and off Hwy 377.

I am in love with clouds. The sky is constantly changing and provides lots of painting opportunities.  I really like how the sun creates such a colorful design on the clouds.

Water Lily 30x24

Water Lily Garden 30x24 oil on Canvas

A visit to Clark Gardens in Weatherford, Texas inspired this painting. I painted on location and still have not finished with all the painting ideas from that trip.  It was a hot summer morning and the perfect place to set up my easel. I created a couple while there and use those as color studies. This was painted in the studio using brushes, palette knifes and layers and layers of colorful paint.

Morning Graze 11x14

Morning Graze 11x14 Oil on Canvas

I created this in the studio from a fuzzing photo I took while flying down the highway. For safety reasons I should mention I was a passenger and not driving. The dramatic sky and hint of the cows on the hillside were enough to spark my creative desire.

Cotton Candy Clouds, 20x20
