I had another opportunity to paint on the Brazos river in Granbury. The path way on the bank of the river first caught my attention. The wild thistle plants added the color I was looking for. This was another chance to push color and design.

I was so grateful for warm sunny weather recently. A few of us from our drawing group took our paints outside. We set up on the banks of Lake Granbury. The tall golden grasses provide a fun focus. It was windy, but so great to get outside and paint.

Autumn On the Ranch 7x14 oil on canvas
This was a view of a ranch from the road side where I set up to paint. There are views in all direction and there is a place to pull off the road. I can find nice views I want to paint, but there is not always a place to park. This is just one of the challenges of a plein air painter.

It was a perfect morning for painting at Lake Texoma last weekend. The weather was picture perfect with low winds. I travelled with my family and there were several of us painting from the point. The others were close by fishing and catching! It was a spectacular morning.

I'm still inspired with painting the poinsettias. I took advantage of a warm and sunny morning. We heard and lot about a snow storm headed out way. This was the morning just before it hit our area.

This was created at the park at Lake Granbury. The neighboring fields were filled with color and the shapely hay bales. Painting on location at the lake with my husband near by fishing was heaven.
