Winter Roses

I shared the process of Winter Roses on social media and feel the calming effect painting has on me. It is so satisfying to develop a painting and see the results. I plucked these beauties out of my garden before the winter vortex and cold temperatures set in. When I paint from life I feel a sense of urgency. It’s a time to observe, document and executive a pleasing visual combination.

Ready for Picking Pears

When starting a new painting I like to warm up my canvas with a thin layer of cad red. If you look close you can see
